The truth is, for me, fishing goes beyond catching tons of big fish (although that is nice).
You see, fishing created a strong bond between 3 generations of Eggertsens - my Grandfather, my Dad, and Me.
I remember it like it was yesterday... a 6 year old kid, catching is first fish at 'Fish Lake' in Utah. It wasn't the fish that made me happy... it was the smiles, the laughter, and good time we had...
...and it was the pride I saw on their faces.
My Grandfather passed away in 1996, but my Dad and I still sit around the kitchen table talking about many eventful fishing trips with Grandpa. I can't even count all of the many adventures (and misadventures) we had when fishing.
Fishing is more than just catching fish, fellas. And I think deep down we all know that. I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything...
...and while I am at, I'd like to point you to a another story that is sure to bring a smile to your face.
The guys kid almost got pulled in by this monster!
Go to this page, and scoll down to the very bottom to read the story as told by Carlos Ramirez:
The next time you go out fishing, do me a favor and remember what it's really all about. Then smile, and drink it all up... because life really is fleeting.
